Dr. Ilie Barb, ranked 1 out of 360 in Medical School, received his Medical degree from University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Targu Mures, Romania going on to complete his Residency and Fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dr. Barb board certifications include Interventional Cardiology, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology. His areas of clinical interest include valvular heart disease, mitral valve disease, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), invasive and non-invasive Peripheral Vascular Disease testing and Clinical Hypertension. Dr. Barb is an ASH Certified Hypertension Specialist.

Dr. Barb joined The Cardiac & Vascular Institute in 2014 and his personal interests include traveling, photography and spending time with his family. He is fluent in Romanian.
